I have a Netgear R7000 running the latest Tomato firmware, v138 at the time of writing.
I am using a usb3.0 hub with a Renesas controller, and a extra power supply. My problem is,
that some of my usb3.0 drives are not detected by Tomato when used on the usb3.0 port with
the usb hub in between. A little detail:
All tests on the usb3.0 port have been tested with the "USB 3.0 Support" both enabled and disabled.
Any drive I've tried (usb2 or usb3) is detected just fine when attached directly to the usb3.0 port
This is also true for the usb2.0 port. Any drive is detected just fine.
But the behavior changes when using a usb3.0 hub.
With the hub connected to the usb3.0 port, any usb2.0 drive is detected, but only some usb3.0 drives are detected.
I've tried several combination of drives in the hub, no luck. I also tried connecting them one at a time, still no luck.
It's always the same drives that are not detected.
If I move the hub to the usb2.0 port on the router, all drives work flawlessly and are always detected.
Off cause I also tested the drives directly on my computer, this also works just fine.
This is NOT about speed. I am just wondering why this is so.
Maybe one of you have an idea as to why this is, and if it can be fixed?
Regards and thank you for Tomato.
