Hey there. I'm running a Plex server and I'm trying to setup a wake-on-LAN script with my Tomato router so that the server can sleep until a Plex client tries to access it (within the LAN only; not interested in WAN). I'd post a link of where I found the code I'm using, but as a new user here, I'm not permitted to submit a link.
I've placed the following code into my firewall script section:
#Rule to log all new connections on LAN for the plex server for the WOL script to trigger iptables -I FORWARD -i br0 -p tcp --dport 32400 -m state --state NEW -j LOG --log-prefix "PLEX LAN Connection " #Rule to log all new connections on WAN for the plex server iptables -I FORWARD -i eth0 -p tcp --dport 32400 -m state --state NEW -j LOG --log-prefix "PLEX WAN Connection "
Supposedly, using this rule, any device that attempts to access port 32400 on the network will result in a logged event. However, I'm not getting any logged events doing this. For instance, my Plex server IP is 192.168.1.190. I've tried starting the Plex clients in my house (all of which attempt to access 192.168.1.190 32400) with no logged event. I've also tried to do a telnet to 192.168.1.190 32400 but still no signs of the logged event.
Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I'm pulling my hair out over here. :/
