Ok guys,i've been having some issues with my ISP in rural Canada…xplornet.
I have Tomato by Shibby installed on my Asus RT-N66U v1.28 1.28.0000 MIPSR2-124 K26 USB AIO-64K
The problem is that the WAN bandwidth use shown in my router is not matching up to my ISP's usage tracker.I'm capped at 250Gb,and have 2 teenage boys and a teenage girl,so I have every device in the house set as a static ip,and every visiting device shows up on the device list, and monitors what they've used.
I called in last night as my router bandwidth was showing 221 GB,but I was put in a limited state because their counter actually said I was at 261 GB,the guy was very helpful, took my info on what router software I was using, and said was in a festive mood so he reset my usage..LOL
Now for November my IP Traffic shows 241.04 Gb and the Bandwidth shows 244.64 Gb.So to me the total bandwidth actually through the router is the WAN bandwidth at 244.64 Gb….but xplornet is showing 268.13 Gb
October i'm showing 277.19 Gb and xplornet is showing 278.23..close…
September is showing 210.57 and xplornet is showing 224.70
August is showing 257.32 and xplornet shows 273.28
Is the extra GB's on there end just the overhead between their modem and the tower maybe..??…I do know they have been doing some tower upgrades in our area, not sure if that would have any effect on more overhead..??
The WAN bandwidth is the actual bandwidth through the router and actually used by me,correct..??…In no way I should be accountable for the lost packets..correct..??
I'm hoping this thread may give me some arguing power come the next time I have to call in.
