I'm sure I'm missing something obvious but this isn't making much sense to me.
I'm running Tomato v1.28.7507 MIPSR2Toastman-RT K26 USB VPN on my router (configured as a gateway) and I'm trying to setup a script which can reset the cable modem if needed.
From what I've seen this isn't very difficult to do, but in the process of setting everything up I've discovered I can't reach my modem from the router.
Pinging the modem from LAN PC there's no problems, quick responses
Pinging LAN devices from the router, works great.
Pinging the modem from the router (either an SSH session, or through the shell-tools part of the interface) the pings time out.
I discovered this after finding out my reset requests from the router weren't getting through.
I'm not sure if the SB6141 has an internal security feature that is blocking traffic from my router, but since PC traffic goes through the router is the gateway to the modem I'd think those pings should look very similar if coming from the router or PC.
The modem's IP is the standard 192.168.100.1 and my network is not in the same .100. range.
I suspect it's something simple I missed, but whatever it is I can't figure this out.
Is there anything related to routing tables or such that either need to be reset or maybe static routed for what I'm trying to do?
