I am using Tomato Ver. 1.28 on a Dell TrueMobile 2300. I was using it in wireless client mode, and wanted to increase my range by connecting to a cantenna, but the antenna on this model does not come unscrewed from a bulkhead fitting like many other better made routers. I opened it up with the intention of modifying the existing antenna, but found a connection for an auxiliary antenna and decided to attempt to solder connections to the auxiliary terminals. After making the connections, I reconnected the router. However, I was unable to obtain wireless survey results after my soldering job. Thinking I may have botched the job, I removed the auxiliary antenna wire and cleaned up the excess solder with some wick. But upon reconnecting the router, I am still unable to obtain wireless survey results. The error message is "Unable to get AP mode." I noticed after reconnecting that under "Overview" under "Status" that it remains in "Renewing…" However, I am really too new with Tomato to know what to look at next. I am not sure if I damaged the hardware or if it is a firmware issue. I would be most grateful for your suggestions.
