When I use the router in 'switch' mode (use WAN port for LAN), I disable DHCP and my clients get a DHCP from the upstream server.
How can I access the router then, which has a fixed IP not in the same subnet?
Putting the router in the same subnet as the DHCP server is not an option, because the router is 'mobile' and I plug it in at different locations, so the DHCP server's subnet will differ.
And a reverse question: when I put the router in routing mode with DHCP enabled, how can I get the downstream LAN-clients to use the WAN's DHCP? Disabling DHCP in the router won't work; the clients get an autogenerated IP that way…
