Greetings. I realize this may not necessarily be the appropriate forum for some of my questions.
I did register on the linksysinfo.org forum but it has yet to be approved.
I am relatively new to this but most of it seems rather straight-forward.
I have a WRT54GL running Shibby's Tomato firmware (1.28). Specifically, tomato-ND-1.28.5x-124-VPN.trx as it is the only recent one I could find that is under 4MB (WRT54GL's maximum flash capacity).
I have an OpenVPN client connection running on my router. Do I also need to have the VPN Client for Windows running or is it redundant?
Also, from what I have read, Shibby's builds include DNSCrypt-proxy.
Under Basic > Network there should be a single checkbox called "Use dnscrypt-proxy" but I do not have this checkbox.
I am guessing it is because it is not built-in to the particular flash I am using.
I have the DNSCrypt client for Windows running, however out of principle, if it can be done on the router I prefer that. If it is enabled on the router, do I also need to have the DNSCrypt Client for Windows running or is it redundant?
I would also like to prevent my router from reverting to a normal connection in the event the OpenVPN connection to the VPN server drops/fails.
Any help/advice/suggestions are welcomed and appreciated.
