First of all please accept my apologies if this has been already discussed but didn't find anything related to my current problem.
So lately, a friend gave me a netgear WNR3500L v2 as I was looking for a small cheap router. It got the default firmware and everything went fine (200Mbps on download and 12 Mbps on upload)
As the default firmware didn't get the features I was looking for, thought I would give it a shout with DD-WRT. Nice firmware having all the stuff I was looking for + several extras. Once I got it up and running speed test returned me a download of 30 Mbps o_O even after several reboots and settings changes.
Now at the end gave it a try to tomatousb (Tomato Firmware 1.28.0000 MIPSR2-2.9-131 K26 USB AIO) configured the basic stuff, enabled the traffic monitoring, and ran a speedtest … 40 Mbps download while upload is running around 11 Mbps.
I was wondering how come it was going so down ? Especially when the std firmware is able to handle the 200Mbps connection of my ISP.
Did I miss any hidden settings? Even after a reset of the settings without any additionnal config, just going up till 45 Mbps :/
