my primary router is an asus rt-n12d. I have Shibby 1.28.0000 MIPSR2-131 K26 Max installed on it. This router handles all the dhcp addressing for my network.
attached to this router by ethernet cables (lan to lan ports) are an old buffalo WHR-HP-G54 (tomato 1.28 stock) and a new tp link wdr3600
(gargoyle 1.8.0) I originally had just the asus and the buffalo router (to have dedicated N and G networks) and added the tp link since I was having issues but they persist.
|asus rt-n12d (primary)||buffalo WHR (child)||tp link wdr3600 (child)|
|Shibby tomato 1.28 build 131 k26||stock tomato 1.28||gargoyle 1.80|
|DHCP server||connected to asus lan||connected to asus lan|
|N network channel 6||G network channel 11||N network channel 1|
When I watch a demanding stream (amazon prime 1080 or torrent) on the SSID from the primary asus router (channel 6) both the buffalo and tp link seem to lose their connections. sometimes my connected devices cannot see the SSID being broadcast (channel 1 and 11) and I have to reboot the child routers. I have had issues where I cannot login to the child routers web interface from a channel 6 ssid connection implying there is an issue within my network vs bandwidth to the outside internet through my modem . Any device on the primary network ssid (asus channel 6) still seems to work fine during the streaming. Anything connected to buffalo via channel 11 or tp link channel 1 loose their network connection. any idea what is going on ?
