Not sure if I can ask this question or if some one has already done it. But I will ask for any info you might give. So, we have a 6 Tenda N600 routers with gigabit connections and have a commercial internet account and do not use much internet. We have decided to give the low income apartments next door internet from 9am to 11pm Monday - Friday for the kids and have received 1 laptop for each unit from a local computer recyclers. The issue we have is I do not see a setting to setup tomato as a repeater so that everyone can use the same ssid and password no matter what router they use. We are trying to cover about 15000 square feet and with brick walls signal is a real issue with out routers every few units. So we figured 3 routers on top and 3 below. Signal we tested with only 1 router was 1 bar and not solid at all. So, how can we set up to give one big wifi network with no drop in wifi for any of the 6 routers.
What we have:
7 Tenda N600's
1 24 port 10/100/1000 switch
1 cable connection at 250g down and 150g up connection on DHCP not a static IP.
Access to power for all 6 router mounted in each stairwell ceiling
Routers will be 150 feet apart
I did not see a setting for repeater in the menu after we installed tomato? So I am not sure how to do. But we want to use 6 routers as one big wifi access point. Hmmmmm, I am not very good at this stuff and this is only a project for the kids so not supper important. Also putting a usb on one of the routers that kids can get to would be great from a teaching point of view…..pure repeater is not a option in tomato?
