Ok I hope this is the right place for this.
Im having trouble getting Tomato to connect to networks in client mode (target Wifi network is WAN) when running WPA 1 or 2 PSK with a Hex key.
After much gnashing of teeth it seems to only choke on HEX keys, ASCII pass works fine.
Im running Shibby mod: Tomato Firmware 1.28.0000 MIPSR2-124 K26 Max, on a Asus rt-n10p
I've also tried 120, 123, 128 with the same problem.
I've tried reflashes, and nvram wipes but nothing has helped.
Here's what my setup looks like:
[RED-WAN] Public Wifi Network <-> Tomato Client Mode WIFI <-> Virtual AP [GREEN-LAN] <-> Wifi Clients.
We're using this setup in a motor home to connect to public/semi public wifi.
The router provides a better signal link, and I can do full net openvpn via the router to back home for security.
It's worked very well, but the MH is at home atm and I tried connecting it to my home wifi , which is another asus-rt-n10p running the same tomato firmware.
It seems it will not connect to my home wifi, which uses Hex key WPA2 PSK
It tries to connect to the network but never completes, never gets a IP off dhcp, even when I arranged a static IP it still is unreachable.
It does seem to work with passphrases though, So my work around solution was to add a virtual AP to the home network using a passphrase to temporarily work around.
NOT WORKING: E70D1A30D9D69583C315D2C78B18511CD55B6E9CC9E51EABA257E682BA9E3B42
This problem so far has only creeped up at home where I use Hex key's, Luckly that's fairly uncommon but if in this instance
if I had not had access to the target AP (my home network) My entire setup would be busted.
any ideas? this just my setup? can someone reproduce this?
