I've noticed that when the DHCP configuration is given to each client it gives the DNS server as the external DNS servers the router gets from the ISP.
The issue is that I want DNSMASQ to resolve the local machines on the network. The DHCP server has a mapping of the local machines names and IP addresses.
Why I'm asking this question, on one of my machines I've setup an incoming PPTP Microsoft VPN server. The VPN server does not allow forwarding NetBIOS packets. On the remote clients I see that the Tomato router is sending the DNS server as the external ISP provided DNS servers. So my remote clients can't contact my local network clients over teh VPN since the DHCP server (ISP) don't recognize the names. How do I get Tomato to respond give out or respond to local requests? Possibly I'm thinking the router needs to give it's own IP address as the first DNS server. If so how do I configure that?
