Hello there, i have a unique problem i have just upgraded my connection to 152Mb and as such i'm required to have a new modem that i don't really want but is required because my current modem is only rated for 30Mb, the piece of equipment provided is some piece of crap re branded netgear jobby.
The he problem i have is that in order to take advantage of the 152Mb speed i need to use the ethernet ports on the modem/router which are rated for 1Gb throughput where my wrt54g ports are only 100Mb so i cant just enable modem mode and use my router why not just use the modem/router as its supposed to be used them u say.
Now here is the 2nd problem a friend of mine is currently in the forces and serving abroad and the Internet he has is highly restrictive so being the good friend i am i setup a VPN Server on the Wrt54g so i still need the it in there somewhere.
The obvious solution is just to take the 52Mb hit on my connection speed and just use modem mode and be glad with it.
what im asking you guys is it possible to have my cake and eat it by which the wrt54g and the super hub are bridged together through wireless or cable and the ports for the vpn forwarded to the wrt54g which now essentially acts solely as a VPN server?
will dropping the wrt54g into the DMZ work?
Any advice would be appreciated.
