Hi Guys,
I am a new user to Tomato after experiencing DD-WRT for a long time. So I decided to change to Tomato. I am using the Asus RT-N66U and I have found some issues while streaming via any Ethernet ports with zero wifi activities.
I have 10Megabits of upload available and when I stream videos I can easily stream about 4500Megabits/sec on the DD-wrt however when I installed Tomato build 116 I can’t reach a steady streaming. The upload speed fluctuates a lot and I can’t achieve steady streaming at 4000 megabits/sec.
When running speedtest.net I don’t see that issue but while streaming in TCP or UDP I have major issues with Tomato.
Can anyone suggest what build to install on this router?
Another issue that I don’t get in DD-WRT is that If I am using the QOS and I change the speed restriction from 2000 to 3000 megabits/sec the router crashes the streaming. On DD-WRT the router never crashes the streaming. It simply changes on the fly…Is this something specific for Tomato?
It looks to me that if you are using QOS and you make Bandwidth changes the routes restarts its service… sometimes I even get a new IP address as I have PPPoe configured on it.
I really don’t want to give up on Tomato as it has more features than DD-WRT that I really like. QOS specially.
Any suggestions would help…
